Nike wants to know what your packing in your bag. They developed a pretty cool website that shows you their top Tour player’s bags… not too many surprises here… except that Tiger’s Method Putter, doesn’t make the list, and a look into Michael Jordan’s Bag. Nike’s asking you to become a fan and follow their page, then show off what your playing with on Facebook and Twitter. In return you get a peek at what everyone else is playing.
Pretty Cool – Check out the Link here: Nike’s What’s in the Bag Page
A huge thanks going out to one of our readers who informed us that pictures of the Callaway X-18 irons are available on the Australian Callaway Golf website. If you go to www.callawaygolf.com/au/index.aspx you can see the X-18’s in the irons section and the Big Bertha 454 in the woods section.
The Long Drivers of America have announced that all clubs used in long driver contests (including the ReMax Long Drive Championship) must now be 50 inches or less. I see long drive guys at work from time to time and some of their clubs are really interesting. Most that I know use clubs under 50 inches but I think it is a good idea to kind of level out the playing field like this.
Good afternoon everyone! TaylorMade Golf has landed a big fish in the endorsement world. They’ve announced that Camilo Villegas will join thier staff in 2011. You can see the full press release below but here are the main points – Villegas will play TaylorMade clubs and ball. He’ll also wear a TaylorMade glove and hat, Adidas shoes and will carry a TaylorMade bag. You might remember that his current sponsor, Cobra Golf, was recently purchased by Puma. Cobra signed Puma staffer Johan Edfors to an equipment contract a few weeks ago. I’d imagine that Cobra/Puma will be on the lookout for a marquee name. Rickie Fowler would be the logical choice although he signed a muliti-year deal with Titliest last September.
Here are some TaylorMade 2011 Forged Blade pics that have surfaced on the web. You’ll find pictures of CB, MC and MB models below – and they all look pretty sweet to me, not to sure what the screw on the back of these irons is for – interchangeable weights? Who knows.. what do you think?
I saw some pictures of the Titleist 695MB today. I remember reading about them a while back in one of the golf magazines and it was nice to finally see what they look like. The irons are a full muscle back design with a bore through hosel. They actually look a lot like an old Wilson blade. The reps are being really quiet on this club so I am assuming it won’t be released any time soon.
I had someone ask me about a limited edition Titleist staff bag the other day and yes there is one out for Christmas. It is a white bag with the signatures of Ernie Els, Adam Scott and Davis Love III on it. Someone told me there is a silver one as well but I haven’t seen it so I don’t know. Titleist only made a limited number of them and each bag has a number on the bottom.
Hi everyone. We talked about the Nike VR (Victory Red) iron line last week and now the company has officially introduced the VR Forged Split Cavity, VR Forged TW Blade and the VR Full Cavity.
