Callaway Hex Black Balls Spotted

SirShanksAlot Comments: Here’s our first look at a new line-up of balls from Callaway. Initial reports are saying this ball is pretty good, although it scuffs easily on wedges (you’d think this shouldn’t be that big of a problem anymore for ball manufacturers). Five piece construction, decent distance of the tee, but exceptional control and spin around the greens.

Scotty Cameron Rumors

Hey everyone, we’ve got some Scotty Cameron rumors to share with you this morning. Enjoy!

  • The Studio Select line is going to be re-branded as the Cameron Select line with a finish that’s based off the current “Tour Black Mist”. A new model is also on the way.
  • Scotty is going the way of many of this year’s drivers and developing a “all black” version of the Newport line called the Jet Setter Newport 2 Notchback.
  • The My Girl putter will have the same head but lots more color (as if that’s even possible).
  • A new deep milled California line up will be out in November.
  • We’ll also add an Acushnet rumor into the mix – they recently registered the following marks “Cold Forged” and “Coldforge” – perhaps we’ll be seeing some new wedges or irons soon from Titleist?!

We expect to see full details relatively soon, and will likely get our first look in January at the Merchandising Show.

That’s it for now!

New TaylorMade Equipment Coming Soon

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by.  Paula Creamer recently tweeted about a trip to TaylorMade’s studio to test out some new equipment, and Adidas clothing.  There’s not much to show here… no pictures unfortunately, but the promise of new TaylorMade equipment on the horizon – see her tweets below.  Going by TaylorMade’s usual track record, they’re slightly overdue for new drivers – so… I’d expect to see a new driver and ball for sure, and perhaps some new putters coming out in mid October – November.

White Cobra ZL Encore Driver Spotted

Source: There you are @garsidek don’t you believe I’m worki… on Twitpic:

SirShanksAlot Comments: Ian Poulter recently tweeted some pictures of a new Cobra driver he is testing out (not so new to us). He’s gaming a Cobra ZL Encore driver, we actually posted some pics of a black version a couple weeks back. Ian appears to be gaming an all white version (possibly silver?). He mentioned that they are testing a new 50 gram shaft, and added half an inch to the shaft. His launch is up, spin down, carry up and ball speed up. Positive stuff! Have a look at the pics.

Swilcan Bridge Putter Patent

Source: Golf Inventions, Patents, and Technology via The IP Golf Guy (aka The Golf Patent Attorney): Breaking News; Watson’s New Putter:

SirShanksAlot Comments: Gotta give this patent some points for creativity. Still, I think a putter like this would be better suited on a wall than on the golf course. Ironically, the inventor of this patent featuring the Swilcan Bridge at St.Andrews is from Carnoustie.
